There will be a new Planned Parenthood clinic in Manchester. Tuesday, a Superior Court judge upheld a zoning variance that will allow the organization to build. The agency's plans were challenged in state and federal court by neighbors and anti-abortion groups. Abutters said they were worried about safety and the potential for anti-abortion violence if abortions were performed at the clinic. Planned Parenthood has said abortions would not be offered right away, but might be in the future.

The so- called donor towns are planning to continue the fight against the statewide property tax. Portsmouth Mayor Evelyn Sirrell is urging communities to rally before the Legislature gets back to work in January. Sirrell spearheaded the court fight against the tax.
She says next year, 55 communities will have to share their property tax proceeds with other towns. And she says many of the so-called receiver towns will be hurting because they'll get less money than they received this year.
Sirell says anti-tax communities will run a three-way attack -- challenging the tax in
court, in the Legislature and through a statewide education effort.

Economic pressures have forced many catholic parishes in the state to consolidate by closing community churches. After serving Berlin for over a century, St. Kieran's church closed its doors in October of 2000. But that is really where this story begins. Theresa Kennett takes a look at how the Berlin/Gorham community transformed this former house of worship into a house of inspiration.

Thanksgiving is the kick-off day that begins the holiday season. And this is often the time of year when we get together with families. For some - it's a time to look forward to, while others absolutely dread the dynamics of those family get-togethers. Certainly the events of September 11th will shade our perception as to what we can expect if we are heading home for the holidays.
Here to talk about that and much more Dave Worster, Director of the Employee Assistance Program at Concord Hospital. Dave's also with the social work department at UNH.

The company's owner is selling his business. And although workers are losing him as a boss they'll be gaining some of his wealth. Tom Auger is handing out bonuses to employees who have worked at V-I-P for at lease five years. The payoff checks - ten thousand to 40 thousand dollars. And some will get more. Auger says it's no big deal, because he figures his employees made the company.
